My Accomplishments

Posted by berryboo in Uncategorized

Looking back at these past school years at Untalan, I’ve really improved in a lot of things. Also, I’ve accomplished a lot of the goals that I have set for myself. As a hardworking student, I have a lot of goals in my life, goals such as school and life goals. All the goals that I set for myself are really important to me, but if I had to choose two of the really important goals that I have accomplished, they would have to be getting a 96 and above for my GPA average, and getting involved as much as I can in both school and life. I can think of so many ways that I have accomplished both goals.

Lets start off at the goal of getting a 96 and above GPA average. I can say that this goal was pretty hard to accomplish. First, I had to work really hard in my studies. Then, I had to maintain the good grades I was getting. Lastly, I had to aim at getting higher grades and doing better. Not only did I accomplish these by doing a certain thing, but I also had people to help and encourage me to do better.

Accomplishing getting involved as much as I could was probably one of the hardest goals that I had to accomplish. Only because I had to dedicate my time and patience to many people and things. Though this goal was hard to accomplish, getting started was pretty easy. Because there was so much things to be involved in, I just went crazy and started doing so many things. Not only was I involved in sports and organizations, but I also involved my time in helping out as much as I could. Getting involved was one thing that I’m thankful I did. It not only got me more active, but it also changed me in some ways. It changed me for the better.

Accomplishing these goals is like taking one step forward in life. Now, I know that I can set goals for myself in the future and accomplish them. I also know that no matter how hard things get in life, that if you really want to accomplish something, don’t give up, and try your best in everythings. I’m also glad that I accomplished these goals because it gives me the push that I need in life to take steps forward and do whatever it takes to make things happen. Now, I can say that I’ve succeeded.

My 3 year experience

Posted by berryboo in Uncategorized

When will someone actually say that their school has made an impact on who they are? Well, usually people don’t say that. But, my years at  Unatalan have been amazing. I have had so many good times here, and made so many memories that I know I’ll never forget. Also, the many experiences and things that have happened here I have made me the person I am today. Looking back since I’ve been here, I’ve had so many changes in my life, but there are some things that have also stayed the same.

Not many things in my life have been the same since sixth grade, which is good, but also not so good at the same time. One way that’s my life has been similar has to be my well doing in academics. For instance, I’ve always been a strait A student with the goals to achieve higher. Similarly, I’ve also been a very good student. I’ve never been suspended or gotten into any deep trouble. Like I said, there’s really not much similarities, so lets get on to my differences.

I guess you can say that I’ve had many more differences than similarities. For example, I know that I’m not the same person I was in sixth grade. I’ve had so many different relationships with so many people, which changed me in many ways. I’ve also gotten more athletic, and more involved in school. School has also gotten a lot harder, which is expected though. Not as many activities have happened this year, but before there were all kinds of activities. Many more things have been different in my life. Some have been good and some have been bad, but that’s life.

Like I’ve said before, Untalan has made a big impact in my life. It’s changed who I once was before into something good and something better. I remember in sixth grade where I was such a shy girl, who never was involves in anything. Untalan has changed me into an outgoing person, who is involved in everything. Untalan just shows what a big family we all are, and will impact you in positive ways.

2 Interesting People

Posted by berryboo in Uncategorized

People are different in so many ways, but they can also have some similarities. That’s just what makes people who they are. Can you see how certain people are different and similar at times? Well, I ‘m comparing two people in my class to figure out their similarities and differences. The two people who are being interviewed are Jeremiah and Shaelene.

What things make these two similar? Well, Jeremiah and Shaelene’s birthdays are both on the 13th. Jeremiah andd Shaelene are both in 8C. Shaelene is an athlete and Jeremiah is indeed one too. Jeremiah also likes traveling in the same way Shaelene does. They both also have the same size ears. In like manner, they can both also say that they have seen snow.

You have heard the similarities, but are you ready for the differences? Well first off, Shaelene’s favorite sport is soccer unlike Jerermiah’s favorite sport, which is football. Their features are also different. Jeremiah has dark brown eyes, but Shaelene has light brown eyes. Shaelene has also lived in the states; however, Jeremiah had never lived in the states. They also live in different villages. Jeremiah lives in Barrigada, while Shaelene lives in Mangilao. Jeremiah has 3 nationalities and Shaelene only has 1. See, there are many differences in people.

After doing this assignment, I’ve learned that there are many things that are different and similar in people. You can actually figure out what they are. Jeremiah and Shaelene had lots of differences and only some similarities. They’re just two different people, but everyone’s different. Maybe if I had compared two different people, they would have more similarities than diffrences. You never know. You’ll just have to figure out for yourself.

What Makes an Excellent Presentation

Posted by berryboo in Uncategorized

There are many ways to make an excellent presentation. One way could be by speaking loud enough so your audience can hear you and having eye contact with your audience, which is what I think almost all of my classmates did while presenting. Another way you can make an excellent presentation is by making what you are presenting eye catching. An eye catching presentation is kind of what Alana did.  Her presentation was so colorful and had so many nice eye catching pictures.

Having an interesting topic or a topic that everyone likes will also make an interesting presentation. I thought Christian and Vanalyn had pretty interesting topics. Their topics were about food and a lot of us in the class were pretty interested in their presentation. Mainly the way you present something should also effect the way the presentation flows. You could be very boring and not have people listen to what you have to say or you could make your presentation fun and exciting so everyone could be interested. Some things that I saw in some of my classmate’s presentations is that they had little to no information. To make someone understand about the topic you talked about, you should have more information about it.

My Research Project

Posted by berryboo in Uncategorized

The research project wasn’t really difficult to do. The topic that I chose was about Karma. Yes, I had to get many sources of information to do the research project, but that’s what research is. The first thing I did to research my project was to go online. The internet had many sources that I used for my project. It was really helpful.

I learned a lot of information about karma through the internet. Some of the information that I found was that karma is defined as a sort of action or deed, which causes the entire cycle of cause anmd effect. I also learned that the law of Karma teaches that responsibility for unskillful actions is born by the person who commits them. I’ve also learned that many people or religions have different ways of seeing karma. In doing my research, my opinion about karma is that you make your own karma with the actions that you choose in this life.

I had a few difficulties researching this project. Just having so much different information about karma was hard for me to sort out. Even the way they explained the different things about karma kind of confused me. I also didn’t know a lot about this topic, so I had to get a whole lot of information to understand it. Other than that it wasn’t really too difficult. I mean I’ve done research about topics before where I didn’t know a thing about the topic, so it isn’t new to me. It was actually a pretty interesting topic for me to learn about and I had an interesting time researching it.

Handheld Experiences

Posted by berryboo in Uncategorized

Describe your experience with handhelds. What were the most interesting aspects? How can your experience be better (education wise)? 2-paragraphs

My experience with handhelds are pretty interesting. I’ve learned a lot about handhelds and I really enjoy using them. First off, it taught me how it should be used, and all the other many things you could do with  a handheld. Most people say it’s just like a mini computer, but it can also be so much more. Though we don’t take it out of the class, it would be pretty cool to have something like a handheld everywhere you go.

Like I said, it would be really cool to take it out of class, and that probably would help my experience be better in a way. If we had more time to do some fun, but educational games that would be pretty fun also. People say that handhelds are no big of a deal, that they already have a computer, but what they do not know is that it’s another way of learning. Yes, handhelds are mini computers, but they can teach us things, probably things we never knew before. I know I had a good learning experience so far in my experience in handhelds and I know others will too.

Cyber-bullying

Posted by berryboo in Uncategorized

After reading the articles, I learned a lot about cyber-bullying. In the past, I never had experiences with cyber-bullying, but I do know that it happens. It can happen any time of the day, anywhere, and to anyone.  I think cyber-bullying is one of the most terrible kinds of bullying form there is. I do agree with the statement that it’s probably the most effective form of bullying.

After reading the article Cyber-bullying wiki, I learned that cyber-bulling is willful, and involves harming someone through the medium of electronic text. It’s basically somebody saying bad things about you online. Cyber-bullying may include threats and sexual remarks. It can also be done by placing personal contact information on  websites. In my opinion, cyber-bullying is a horrible thing to do, and should be stopped.

After reading the article How Parents can stamp out Cyber-bullying, I learned that there  are many effects of cyber-bullying. Some of the effects are causing people to take it out on others, to hurt other people, and to do it to others.  From reading the article  Suicide Victim and the town that turns on her cyber-bullying I learned that suicide is the biggest effect of cyber-bullying. In the article it showed that a thirteen year old named Megan Meier committed suicide because of the bullying. This not only effected her, but also her family. So this shows that cyber-bullying can affect  more than just the person that is being bullied. Also reading the article Cyber-bullying wiki, I also learned that is causes emotional distress to yourself.

From the article How parents can stamp out cyber-bullying, parents and others can help prevent cyber-bullying in many ways. One way can be by reminding children to keep their personal information private. Also to drawing and keeping claer boundaries in online conversations may help keep them safe. We can also help by reminding others of the consequences of their online actions and how it can affect them in life. Parents can also be more protective and be more aware  about what their child does online. Also a reminder here and there about what bad things can happen online can help.

Just learning about cyber-bullying, the causes, and how to prevent it interests me.  It taught me a lot and probably can help me and others in the future. Learning how cyber-bullying works was a very good thing to learn about because now I can help myself and others on what to do and not to do online. Surely no one wants to be harrassed and threatened online, and the article on prevention will give people good ideas on how to prervent cyber-bullying. Just knowing the causes of it, and especially knowing that it can cause death wants me to make an effort to prevent it because it can happen to anyone.

All About Recycling

Posted by berryboo in Uncategorized

Have you ever wondered why people recycle or most especially how  people recycle? Well my classmates and I had to write about what we knew about recycling and what we wanted to know about recycling. We then also had to learn a bit or two about recycling. We went on a website to see what recycling is and how a city recycles.

Most of my classmates, including myself  said that the thing that we know about recycling is that it helps the environment. Though it helps the environment, some also think it’s bad for the Earth because it pollutes the atmosphere. A few said that it makes the world a better place. A few also know that they’re different kinds of recycling and that it deals with taking old materials to make new ones.

We also wrote that we wanted to know about the different kinds of recycling and its benefits. Some also want to know the process of recycling and what happens once the materials are recycled. A few want to know if recycling affects our environment, and one wants to know exactly how many people recycle in this world.

Many people agree that recycling helps clean our environment. I learned that there are many ways to recycle. One way is to buy things that aren’t wrapped in extra package to reduce trash. Another way is to put bins around to recycle things like glass, paper, and aluminum so they could be made into new products. I also learned that many people out there recycle and some of the little things we do can help our environment.

Almost everyone has a New Years resolution for the New Year. What are your New Years resoutions? Are they life changing ot are they just for fun? Well, I have some New Years resolutions. So, Im going to tell you a little bit about them.

My first resolution, like most people, would have to be to start eating healthier. I will accomplish this goal by telling myself how this goal will help me in life, motivating myself, and following it. This will effect myself in many ways. It will keep me healthy and keep my body healthy. It will also help me feel better about myself and what I put in my body, so I won’t worry about it so much.

Knowing how much I don’t read, my next New Years resolution is to start reading more books. Books expand your mind and will help me a lot in school other things in life. By accomplishing this goal, I will read 3 chapter books every month. This will be a really good goal for me. By reading more, I’ll learn more and have an open mind about things.

My last resoution will be to get the highest GPA this school year. I really want to sccomplish this goal. It’ll help me for the future and helo me know I could do anything if I set my mind to it. To accomplish this goal I will have to work my hardest the rest of the school year. I will be more responsible about school and my school work, and do whatever it takes to accomplish it.

These are some of my resolutions. They will be hard to sccomplish, but I know I can do it. By telling myself it can make a difference in my life and keeping this in my mind will help me accomplish my resolutions. Now you think about your New Years resolutions and how you will accomplish them. I know you can do it, like I know I can.
